The Role of the Church and Faith Organizations

Welcome to PartneringForLife.org, a Web site designed to provide church leaders with the resources
and information needed to organize cancer awareness and health promotion programs and activities.

Far too many African American men and women die from chronic illnesses that could be prevented by
early detection or change in lifestyle and behavior.  For instance, each year 32,020 African American
men die of cancer in the United States.

The African American church and faith organizations are in a position to address this sobering statistic
by introducing cancer awareness and health promotion programs and activities to their congregants.

Partnering For Life is here to help.

"Partnering for Life is a wonderful opportunity for ministers in the body of Christ to encourage both physical and spiritual wholeness. Through collaboration with the American Cancer Society, churches can address the well being of the African American community from a holistic perspective: mind, body and spirit."
