The Cancer Burden: Cervical Cancer

The incidence of cervical cancer has been declining, but it is still 30% higher in African American women compared to white women.  The death rate is also higher among African American women who are twice as likely to die from cervical cancer in 2007.

Approximately 1,910 new cases of cervical cancer are expected in African American women in 2007.
